What you will be doing

Cencora has managed and staffed the Reading Hospital ambulatory pharmacy program since 2017. In recent years, we have grown to support multiple locations and roles throughout West Reading, Wyomissing, and Philadelphia. We are now hiring for all positions for a new mail order pharmacy opening this Fall. This new facility will specialize in prescription home delivery and central fill services utilizing advanced automation technology. It will serve as a key hub driving the growth of our pharmacy operations regionally.


Location: Onsite 1170 Berkshire Blvd Wyomissing, PA 19610
 

Hours: Full-time; pharmacy hours of operation are Monday-Friday from 7:00am-5:00pm EST. Shifts are available as five, 8-hour days or four, 10-hour days weekly.

A Pharmacy Technician in our organization is a positive, charismatic, team-oriented individual with a dedication to customer service and patient care. Someone who can manage competing priorities, work quickly, is technology savvy, and has strong communication skills would be a good fit for this role. This position is categorized as compliance critical and, as such, requires and is assigned specific responsibility for ensuring continual and proper compliance with all division, corporate and regulatory requirements. 

•    Accurately enter prescription information into the pharmacy system.
•    Verify patient information and prescription details.
•    Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations. 
•    Measure, count, and label medications.
•    Repackage bulk medications into individual prescriptions or into automated dispensing systems.
•    Accurately pick, pack, and ship completed medication orders in a timely manner. 
•    Submit/receive orders and place inventory in stock.
•    Operates the point-of-sale system.
•    Perform regular stock counts and manage reorder levels.
•    Store medications according to safety and regulatory guidelines.
•    Communicate with patients, prescribers, and other staff to solve problems or answer questions.
•    Provide information on prescription status and delivery.
•    Participate in achieving business goals and metrics for the pharmacy.
•    Standing and walking for long periods of time during shifts.
•    Lift, push, and carry heavy packages, sometimes weighing up to 50 pounds.
•    Operate material handling equipment as needed.

What your background should look like 

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Normally requires a minimum of two (2) years directly related and progressively responsible ambulatory pharmacy experience; bachelor's degree program preferred. Pharmacy technician certification with a national technical certification organization, such as Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or other comparable national certification required. State pharmacy certification is acceptable if core competencies are equal to or better than national certification requirements.
