Director of Accounting & Financial Reporting

At the GS-15 level, you must meet the following qualification: One (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-14) in the Federal Service that has given you the particular knowledge, skills and abilities required to successfully perform the duties the position. Specialized experience for this position defined as: Applied financial management laws, represented the organization to resolve complex issues through the use of OMB guidelines; Authoritatively managed all aspects of a financial service program through independent monitoring and auditing of activities to ensure appropriateness and accuracy with accounting procedures/controls; Established and maintained internal financial controls and the reporting requirements for filing financial statements/annual reports; AND Developed innovative procedures/new problem-solving techniques to resolve problems relating to contractor projects/ payments and served as a technical expert to assess program quality/recommended process improvements. TIME-IN-GRADE: Current career or career-conditional employees of the Federal government, or former career or career-conditional employees, who have a break in service of less than one year, are required to meet the time-in-grade restriction of one year of Federal experience at the next lower grade, with few exceptions outlined in 5 CFR 300.603(b). Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
