Job Description
Nevada State University invites applications for the position of Student Worker - Personal Trainer. The student worker will be responsible for educating clients and enforcing policies regarding safe and proper use of equipment. Individuals holding this position must be able to develop, document, and implement one-on-one, partner, or group workout programs that match the needs and goals of clients. This person must be able to instruct clients on basic exercise physiology and inform them of proper lifting and exercise techniques.

Core Responsibilities:
Personal Training
- Independently implement safe and effective personal training to the campus population to support client health, fitness and overall well-being.
- Providing personal training services to clients, including an understanding of the holistic scope of practice, recognizing when professional referrals are appropriate, and supporting client education related to health, fitness, and overall well-being.
- Conduct fitness assessments including preparticipation assessments and progression assessments.
- Arrive at least 10 minutes prior to scheduled appointment.
- Knowledge of fitness equipment, exercises, and proper technique to ensure safe and effective workouts.
- Develop an in-depth understanding of a wide range of fitness equipment, including pin loaded machines, free weights, functional training tools, and cardio equipment.
