Consulting Sales Engineer-NY, MA, East Coast

About the Position:

Juniper Networks has an immediate opening for a team-oriented, highly effective and self-motivated individual to support the Sales Engineering in our Cloud Provider segment. Sales Engineers (SE’s) are a critical component of the Juniper GTM Team and have a primary responsibility to partner with the sales organization on driving technical sales activities for both new and existing opportunities. SE’s possess in-depth, hands-on expertise with Juniper's products, solutions, and services as well as those of our competitors and can demonstrate the same to our customers and business partners.

The specific role is for Sales Engineer on a world-class cloud-provider team and will be looked upon as a leader with vision and a multi-domain authority within the areas of WAN, Datacenter, Overlay/Underlay, and Security solutions. The candidate will work closely with Juniper Product, Engineering, and strategy teams to make sure Juniper’s product roadmap is aligned to industry trends and customers’ evolving needs in emerging technologies.

What you need to have

• Minimum of 7 years’ experience in a technical/pre-sales role as a Sales or Systems Engineer.
• Bachelor's and/or master’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, and related field or equivalent experience.
• Strong interpersonal, relationship, and communication skills with experience in customer-facing sales activities. Ability to communicate to a variety of audiences, both internal and external, and at all levels, from deeply technical to executive level technical decision-makers.  
• Experience presenting, whiteboarding to technical and financial decision makers.
• Proven technical capability, ability to learn quickly, and apply skills in new protocols and applications.
• Confirmed understanding and hands-on expertise with networking industry technologies across routing, switching, and security technology domains.
• Experience with Routing Protocols (IGPs, EGPs, Layer-2/3 VPN’s)
• Proven experience of datacenter network design (EVPN/VXLAN, Clos architectures, underlay fabrics)
• Experience with MPLS and WAN network design (LDP, RSVP, SR etc.) 
• Strong hands-on experience with either Juniper or other vendors solutions

 

What we would love you to have 

• Experience building data center and campus networks, as well as IP/MPLS/Optical backbone networks.
• DevOps experience with proficiency in automation using Python, Chef, Puppet, Ansible, YANG, JSON, Netconf and Ansible.
• Experience with cloud-based technologies such as AWS, GPC and Azure
• JNCIE, CCIE, or other expert-level industry certification is desired.

Minimum Salary: $206,400.00

Maximum Salary:$296,700.00

The pay range for this position is expected to be between $206,400.00 and $296,700.00/year; however, the base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position also includes medical benefits, 401(k) eligibility, vacation, sick time, and parental leave. Additional details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

Juniper’s pay range data is provided in accordance with local state pay transparency regulations. Juniper may post different minimum wage ranges for permanent residency petitions pursuant to US Department of Labor requirements.
