The Senior Client Service Executive serves as the custodian of the Central Business Office-department relationship, fostering organizational connectivity via personal interaction; serving as a single point of contact for any revenue cycle issues for the Department. This role complements the overall CBO management team, coordinating and facilitating issue resolution. Proactively manages the relationship through monitoring key performance indicators, and understanding the clients revenue cycle needs and financial performance targets. The Senior CSE is integral to establishing and maintaining a strong working relationship between the CBO and the Client.
Specific responsibilities include: monitoring specific KPIs throughout the month (charge flow, front end work queues, payment flow); identifying potential operational gaps adversely impacting financial performance, analyzing Department metrics to assess operational and performance trends; strengthening CBO relationships through consistent and timely communication; facilitate diplomatic resolution of any issues related to the revenue cycle. Proactive execution of special projects related to this process, and accountable for the success of billing operations for each assigned practice, and other duties as assigned.
1. Creates a customer-focused collegial partnership with assigned practices and other corporate entities. Manages and directs client communications and CBO service interactions.
2. Proactively engages in management of departments financial performance, delivering recommendations and results based upon financial metrics.
3. Demonstrates ownership and accountability for results of the billing and collections function that impacts the practices bottom line.
4. Cultivates and fosters positive department relationships with physicians, clinicians, and practice and billing administrators for the CBO.
5. Manages department expectations based upon Service Agreements and FPA benchmarks.
6. Collaborates with fellow team members and partners to resolve department concerns or requests.
7. Manages, mentors and sets expectations for less experienced Client Service staff.
8. Leads CBO special projects as related to client relationships and revenue cycle initiatives.
9. Conducts meetings with Operations and Reporting staff to identify areas of concern and is proactive in the implementation of work flow changes.
10. Leads cross functional teams in delivering high quality work products under set timelines.
11. Monitors key billing/collection statistics and compares to national/regional/local benchmarks including, but not limited to, net collections, days in A/R, etc.
12. Manages CBO established deliverables and disseminates data to key practice members.
13. Shares resources and information across boundaries to ensure patients and other customers needs are met.
14. Serves as primary in-house expert regarding the accounts receivable for assigned departments.
15. Works closely with departments and CBO to implement strategies to increase cash flow.
16. Performs detailed analysis and makes decisions and process flow changes based on financial analysis.
17. Represents the CBO in various revenue cycle meetings where appropriate.
18. Other relevant duties as assigned.
Performance Management:
1. Collaborates with CBO senior leadership in developing annual work plans and goals.
2. Schedules opportunities for feedback from leadership.
3. Mutually ensures annual performance review is completed and that of subordinate Client Service Executive staff.
4. Monitors own performance levels and work processes to identify opportunities for improvement.
- 7 years+ in consulting, healthcare or related physician practice business operations. Knowledge of healthcare revenue cycle management required.
