This position is for a Senior Electrical Engineer with analog and digital design experience. The task includes PCB design, system design and integration, requirements capture and transition to manufacturing. Products include circuit card assemblies (CCA) in radio systems. Products are typically required to comply with various MIL standards including MIL-STD-461.

This opportunity is targeted toward engineers who enjoy working in a systems environment as it includes designing multiple electrical elements of a product, interacting with mechanical and software team members, developing CCA and system requirements and supporting system test teams.

What You Will Do:

  • Review system/subsystem level requirements and generate hardware requirements
  • Generate detailed circuit board and subsystem level block diagrams and interconnect diagrams
  • Review system/subsystem level requirements and generate hardware requirements
  • Research, develop, design and generate schematic for analog, digital, or power circuit card assemblies
  • Support layout designer during printed circuit board design
  • Perform board bring up and test of CCAs
  • Support firmware, software, systems team members during integration and test
  • Support production team during fabrication and testing of electronic components
  • Ensure work is completed on time and established quality and budgets are achieved.
  • Prepare documentation including confidential descriptions or specifications of proprietary hardware or software, information on product development, introduction schedules, product costs, and performance weaknesses to track progress and analyze performance.
  • Identify risks and opportunities as well as mitigations to burn down risks

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required 
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good communication skills and the ability to tailor to audience at all levels

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Experience in designing digital and analog products including microprocessor systems, low-power supplies, communication subsystems
  • Experience with signal integrity and high-speed designs.
  • TEMPEST design experience
  • Working knowledge of EMI/EMC standards for military applications
  • Experience designing for Military Aircraft applications.
  • Experience using ALM tools including Jira and Confluence
  • Experience working with industry standard toolsets for requirement capture and task management (e.g. DOORs, Microsoft Project)
  • Experience in developing test procedures and test fixtures.
  • Ability to read, create and review engineering drawings including schematics, assembly drawings and parts lists
  • Experience interfacing to RF circuitry and high-speed A/D D/A conversion
  • Experience with implementation of high-speed backplanes
  • Experience with Mentor Graphics tool suite
  • Proven analytical skills using in circuit simulation (Matlab, LT Spice)
  • Knowledge of firmware development, design and test using suitable toolsets (Xilinx Vivado, ModelSim)
  • Experience with CAM (Cost Account Management) duties
  • Ability to lead small teams and report status to management
