A Day in the Life

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • Leading and managing R&D and commercial production projects, ensuring they are completed on time and meet the company's standards.
  • Designs, develops, analyzes, troubleshoots, and provides technical skills during research and/or product development.
  • Providing technical guidance and expertise to the R&D team and other departments.
  • Identifying technical problems and developing solutions to overcome them, often using advanced engineering techniques.
  • Preparing detailed engineering documentation and reports for projects.
  • Working closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, operations, quality, and regulatory, to ensure product development aligns with business objectives.
  • Responsible for production support engineering with respect to testing methods, procedures, and problems; device specification and yield problems; minor redesign of devices; analysis of customer returns; supplier-related engineering changes; and optimizing device production relative to cost constraints.

Required Knowledge and Experience: 
Requires a Baccalaureate degree

Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.

  • Advanced knowledge of the job area, combining breadth and depth, typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, including planning, execution, and monitoring, while ensuring they stay on track and within budget.
  • Strong analytical skills to identify issues and develop effective solutions are essential; this includes the ability to troubleshoot complex engineering and/or manufacturing problems.
  • Ability to think creatively and develop innovative solutions to improve manufacturing processes and product designs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$116,800.00 - $175,200.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations
