SUMMARY OF POSITION

The West Regional Director is responsible for crafting both short-term and long-term development and growth objectives for the western region. Additionally, they offer the necessary leadership, planning, and strategic direction to accomplish these goals. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Proactively work to continually develop and grow the capability, capacity, and range of the region through the development and growth of markets, services, offices, staff, clients, and partners.
  • Develop revenue, profit, staffing, and asset goals for the region based on a continual development and growth ethos.
  • Develop business development plans and strategies to ensure the region’s goals are achieved.
  • Develop the annual budget for the region including offices, staffing, assets/equipment, training, conferences, and innovation. 
  • Proactively work to achieve the annual and long-term regional goals within the established budget.
  • Monitor and report on regional performance and take necessary corrective actions to ensure regional goals are met or exceeded.
  • Proactively identify new office location opportunities and lead the search, leasing, and development of new offices to support the annual and long-term goals of the region.
  • Proactively identify regional staffing needs and assist in the recruiting and hiring of new staff to support the annual and long-term goals of the region.
  • Oversight of office budgets, proposals, registrations, licenses, pre-qualifications, contracts, and agreements.
  • Oversight of regional staff utilization, cooperation, collaboration, efficiency, and work quality.
  • Oversight of regional staff engagement, support, and development.

YOU WILL NEED

  • Technical knowledge, experience, and capabilities in area of practice.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage tasks efficiently and effectively.
  • Strong proficiency in computer software applications for communication and business development including Microsoft Office, Deltek Vision, Vantagepoint, and GovWin.
  • Be a self-starter and complete tasks that are assigned. 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil, structural, or ocean engineering from an ABET accredited four-year university.
  • 10+ years of relevant engineering experience including management of project and staff.
  • 5+ years of experience in leadership and management roles. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Professional Engineer (PE)
  • Valid US Driver’s License

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s degree in civil, structural, or ocean engineering from an ABET accredited university.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS, WORK ENVIRONMENT & SAFETY

The duties of this position require the employee to regularly sit, stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, and talk and hear. This position may require the employee to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
