About the role

 

 

We are currently looking for an Instrumentation and Electronics Technician Intern to provide technical support within our New Town and Dunn Center, North Dakota offices. Start date would be May 22nd and run through August 11th.  These dates can be adjusted as needed based on the circumstances of the accepted candidate. Work Schedule would be 5-2 Monday through Friday 8 hours per day with overtime and weekend work potential. 

 Responsibilities:

  • Upon hire an intern would be onboarded as all new employees include HES orientation, vehicle orientation, LOTO training, web-based training, and ride along training.
  • Marathon will provide the following PPE.  Safety glasses, hard hat, FR clothing, 1 pair steel toe boots, and 4 gas personal alarm monitor.
  • The intern will be assigned a mentor to ride along with and work with until he/she is deemed competent to travel alone and be able to take on small projects.
  • This individual will work closely with members of the I&E team in the areas of maintenance.
  • Exposure to the following control devices.  ABB XRC, Emerson FB3000, Emerson Roc 800
  • Gain familiarity with products such as pressure transmitters, guided wave radar, level switches, actuators, Temperature transmitter, solenoid valves, and thermocouples.
  • Assist with the performance of reliability and accuracy of critical control devices.
  • Gain familiarity with artificial lift regarding startups and instrumentation such as vibration switches, load cells, crank/rpm cables, Foresite comms, Weatherford Speed Sentry and Lufkin Well Manager controllers.
  • Potential projects would include.
    • Battery swaps on ups system in Water Allocation Skids
    • Battery swaps on Valvecon ESD actuators.
    • Adjust limit switches on actuators to calibrate the valve to function to fully open and fully closed. Limiting pinched valves or valves leaking when closed.

Qualifications:

Education:                            

  • Instrumentation and Control Technology 1st year completed.

Computer Skills:                 

  • Experience in Microsoft Office Suite, Proficiency navigating company applications on Apple IOS device.
