Dr. Yasser Riaz Alhosseini's lab is looking to hire a Research Associate to conduct research that focuses on the post-transcriptional regulatory programs in cancer.


Position Summary:

1. Develop and optimize protocols for single-cell and spatial profiling experiments, including, but not limited to, joint single-cell ATAC-seq and RNA-seq (e.g. Multiome), and on-slide full transcriptome profiling as well as in-situ hybridization methods to detect and measure target molecules (e.g. proteins and RNAs)

2. Develop protocols for single-cell capture and downstream analysis including FACS and functional experiments

3. Train and supervise trainees and assist them with sensitive experiments as instructed by the supervisor

4. Perform various administrative tasks related to research projects, including preparation of reports to funding agencies, contribution to writing proposals and preparation of documents for grant applications

5. Work in collaboration with the supervisor with the coordination of translational genomics projects by communicating with research partners and collaborators in the clinics and research institutes 

Education/Experience:

PhD in molecular biology, experience with method/protocol development,

Qualifications:

1. Familiarity with basic bioinformatic tools and platforms, including R

2. Experience with in-situ hybridization methods and experiments

Knowledge of French and English: McGill University is an English-language university where day to day duties may require English communication both verbally and in writing. The level of English required for this position has been assessed at a level 4 (qualifier) on a scale of 0-4
