Who We WantWe are looking for an addition to our People Operations team to manage the payroll function in a complex sales environment. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate processing and recording of Arrive’s company-wide payroll, provide timely and accurate financial information and participate in data entry requirements and payroll processing. You will work directly with our Vice President of Total Rewards and Payroll Team Lead to ensure our employees’ needs are met (and exceeded!). You will also support other people-centric projects and initiatives as they come up.

What You’ll Do

  • Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports.
  • Understand proper taxation of employer paid benefits.
  • Process correct garnishment calculations and compliance.
  • Manage and audit time cards and approval process.
  • Process accurate and timely year-end reporting (W-2, W-2c, 941, etc).
  • Develop ad hoc financial and operational reporting as needed.
  • Process manual check and relocation reimbursements.
  • Track employees’ hours and overtime when applicable.
  • Maintain payroll information by collecting, calculating, and entering data in a timely manner and accurately. Audits should be completed on an on-going basis. 
  • Prepare reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages.
  • Determine payroll liabilities by calculating employee federal and state income and social security taxes and employer's social security, unemployment, and workers compensation payments.
  • Resolve payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
  • Research, review and audit any new state requirements and ensure timely setups and reporting. 
  • Maintain employee confidence and protect payroll operations by keeping information confidential.
  • Manage a dedicated payroll email box and respond to employee questions within the hour. 
  • Implement, manage, maintain, and review payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, leave of absence, spot bonuses, and changes to pay rates.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
  • Facilitate audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of study (Human Resources or Accounting preferred).
  • 4+ years experience processing multi-state payroll.
  • Working knowledge of payroll best practices.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state regulations.
  • Workday payroll experience is required
  • Strong PC skills including proficiency in Excel.
  • Strong work ethic and team player. 
  • High degree of professionalism.
  • Ability to deal sensitively with confidential material. 
  • Strong interpersonal (verbal and written) communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate with various levels of management.
  • Decision-making, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills a MUST.
