Compensation Overview

The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.

What Is the Opportunity?

We are seeking a talented Director of Strategic Initiatives – Claim Portfolio Management to assist in optimizing a portfolio of Claim investments, ensuring they align with business, financial, and technology goals in Claim and across the enterprise.
In this consultative role, you will collaborate with the Claim Business Delivery, Analytics and Technology team as well as Claim partners to help ensure our investments align with broader Claim goals. You will support initiative prioritization, portfolio reporting, and day-to-day portfolio operations. This includes helping to manage and prioritize the initiative pipeline based on strategic importance, assisting in providing visibility into resource allocations, and supporting the implementation of portfolio management best practices. In partnership with our Agile office, you will help build out and enhance our portfolio data to identify trends and drive more informed decision-making.
Effective communication with a wide group of Claim partners is essential to ensure that our organization and partners are aligned on the work and practices of the portfolio. This includes assisting in creating concise and meaningful presentations for senior leadership, translating complex analyses into actionable insights in support of investment decisions.
This position requires a balance of business, technical, and financial acumen, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders about both the investments and trends in the portfolio. You should be willing to dive into the data and support the day-to-day portfolio management operations of this function. What Will You Do?

  • Build and maintain strong relationship within leadership team
  • Partner with other organizations, inclusive of other Strategic Planning & Execution organizations (SP&E), to ensure alignment on purpose, progress, and resource requirements needed to achieve business objectives.
  • Establish engagement model with Business Units to drive more holistic and robust planning, initiative prioritization, resource planning and strategic roadmap development.
  • Partner closely with Agile/Delivery practices to evolve organizational operating and governance model to align with agile best practices and processes.
  • Build out management information reporting & planning function to inform departmental planning, strategic decision making and demonstrate organizational impact and value delivery.
  • Develop strategic planning process and infrastructure business leadership, providing guidance and effective direction to ensure operating divisions are aligned to overall goals and vision.
  • Provides strong strategic leadership, direction, and execution focus to Strategy, Planning and Operations team, leading with a diverse and inclusive mindset and proactively engaging team members so they reach their full potential.

What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • 7 years of project management experience preferred.
  • 2 years of experience managing others and/or project teams preferred.
  • Strong organization and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated experience developing multi-year technology strategies and roadmaps.
  • Experience working with advanced project-management methodologies and Agile principles.
  • Experience in developing strong, trusted partnerships with senior executives and constituent partners.
