ABOUT THIS POSITION
What is the purpose of this position?Waystar is seeking a talented and energetic, data-driven analyst to play a key role on our Ops Engineering team. In this role, you will apply an analytical approach to enhance the delivery and exchange of data insights to our growing client base.
The successful Data Analyst/Business Analyst will have a passion for data, analytics, and problem solving and who will not only bring their experience to the team, but will also explore new and interesting ways for us to build our analytic capabilities and resources as the business grows.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Requires strong computer literacy with an emphasis on Excel analysis and modification.
- Familiarity with payer network participation, contract terms and conditions
- Gather, examine, and analyze large sets of data from multiple sources to define and diagnose different patterns for data manipulation
- Verify, monitor, and optimize data exchanges between Waystar and our clients
- Streamline data reporting to support current growth and improve current processes
- Work with clients to understand the data they provide and how that data translates into a common data model that supports driving client business improvement
- Perform validation of contract terms by reviewing account examples and confirming correct expected reimbursement generated
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
- Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent work experience
- Contract analyst experience in healthcare software or healthcare consulting environment
- Ability to interpret contract language from managed care contracts
- Ability to research and interpret regulatory guidelines for Medicare, Medicaid, Tricare, and Workers Compensation
- Understanding of hospital revenue cycle operations and healthcare coding (i.e. DRG, CPT4, HCPCS, revenue codes, APG, APC, ICD-10, etc.)
- 1+ years of experience performing data analysis in a business environment
- Experience using SQL Server for complex projects and tasks a plus
- Must be a quick learner with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Proven experience managing data, including data analysis and problem solving
- Familiarity with the challenges of data extraction and manipulation of large data sets
- Strong communication skills both written and oral
- Must possess strong analytical, attention to detail and problem-solving skills
