Dispatcher-Job Description
Summary
Dispatches trucks and casing crews to service assignments and relays communications to crews and other field personnel by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned.
· Receives telephone requests for services from customers and relays information to crews and field personnel.
· Dispatches drivers/crews to servicing assignments.
· Assigns vehicles according to factors such as length and purpose of trip, freight or other requirements, and preference of customer.
· Issues keys, record sheets, and credentials to drivers.
· Records time of departure, destination, cargo, and expected time of return.
· Follow-up with Drivers and Crew to ensure successful and timely arrival. Investigates overdue vehicles.
· Directs activities of drivers by two-way radio.
· Confers with customers to expedite or locate missing, misrouted, delayed, or other issues
· Maintains record of mileage, fuel used, repairs made, and other expenses.
· Establishes service or delivery routes.
· Prepares time reports and other records.
· Confers with customer regarding problems and outlines types of services available.
· Computes quantities of materials required and quotes prices for services.
· Refers customer inquiries regarding production problems or available services to sales personnel.
· Compiles list of available vehicles.
· Issues equipment to drivers.
· Assigns helpers to drivers.

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
