Job Description:

AML Exam and Regulatory Relations (US) provides management, oversight, coordination and support for the Financial Crime Risk Management (FRCM) program, specifically including:

  • Internal Audit, Regulatory Exam and ongoing supervision management
  • Issues and findings tracking and reporting
  • Regulatory Change Management and Advocacy
  • Coordination and support for FCRM Regulatory Compliance Management (RCM) activities

The Senior Financial Crime Risk Specialist, Audit & Exam Oversight provides a range of analytical and or process leadership and support for Regulatory Exams, Internal Audits and Ongoing Supervision activities related to the FCRM program.   This role may interact with key internal stakeholders from across the Bank and third-party service providers to deliver FCRM program that satisfy regulatory requirements and meet regulator and Internal Audit expectations.

  • Leads or organizes Regulatory Exams and Internal Audits of the FCRM program, using consistent processes and tracking tools, with goals of full and proper engagement from all stakeholders, timely delivery of accurate and complete responses to requests for information, meetings that have effective presentation materials and the right presenters, and effective reporting on progress and milestone completion to senior management.
  • Directs and executes effective quality control processes for all materials to be submitted to regulators or Internal Audit.  
  • Manages multiple concurrent Exams or Audits.
  • Provides or directs responses to regulatory agencies and Internal Audit. Interacts directly and independently with auditors and regulatory agencies and provides approval for document submissions to these entities, based on professional judgment regarding responsiveness and appropriateness.
  • Leads organization of, and preparation for, regular and ad hoc meetings with regulators and Internal Audit, and directs/tracks responses to takeaways and other ad hoc requests using same general processes as for Exams and Audits.
  • Serves as key liaison with regulatory agencies and Internal Audit, enduring effective communications and relationship management.
  • Works independently as the senior specialist/subject matter expert on Exam and Audit management and may coach and educate others.
  • Oversees and/or independently performs tasks from end to end.
  • Applies expert knowledge of regulator and Internal Audit request processes and expectations and knowledge of the FCRM program, business operations, products, services, methods, and operating standards to drive unit or team performance and provides training to other team members based on knowledge.
  • Executes on more complex and/or non-standard requests.
  • Recommends and implements solutions within own area of responsibility that impact the strategies and objectives of the Department.
  • Coordinates/integrates work with other areas as needed.
  • Provides advanced analysis and/or specialized reporting to support business partners, functional areas or centers of expertise.
  • Requires advanced technical/business/function knowledge for discipline supported.
  • High level of complexity in operational/reporting/process and/or analysis function requiring medium to longer term focus
  • Represents the group as the lead or subject matter expert on projects/initiatives and/or at meetings across the organization.
