The Parent Educator Campus Based Title I, under immediate supervision of the campus Principal, is responsible for providing meaningful engagement initiatives and coordinating a variety of programs and events at their designated home campus to help propel students for academic success and achievement. The incumbent will assess and respond to the diverse needs of families in efforts to cultivate a school culture that effectively addresses campus and District family engagement goals.

Job OverviewThe Parent Educator Campus Based Title I, under immediate supervision of the campus Principal, is responsible for providing meaningful engagement initiatives and coordinating a variety of programs and events at their designated home campus to help propel students for academic success and achievement. The incumbent will assess and respond to the diverse needs of families in efforts to cultivate a school culture that effectively addresses campus and District family engagement goals.
Position Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Family Engagement
- Facilitate, prepare, and implement District and campus-based mandated parent and family classes/programs
- Develop and foster relationships with internal and external stakeholders including campus/District staff, local community service organizations and businesses to ensure successful implementation of family engagement activities
- Support school personnel in the development and implementation of the campus parent involvement policy and campus compact through the facilitation of mandatory campus Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) meetings
- Implement strategies to develop an understanding of the diverse needs of campus families and provide activities or resources that respond to those needs
- Provide relevant and specific input to support and increase parent and family engagement
- Organize PFE materials (Produce flyers, calendars, agendas, and sign in sheets), activities and communications (newsletters, content for websites, electronic media, etc.)
- Support efforts to keep parents/families informed of school functions and initiatives
- Survey parents to determine needs and assess effectiveness of the PFE program
- Coordinate with campus personnel (e.g., front office staff, principal, etc.) to stay abreast of campus functions/events and disseminate this information to parents and families to help support a welcoming environment
- Maintain campus parent/family engagement Title 1 documentation to show evidence of implementation of the requirements noted in ESSA, Section 1116
- Communicate effectively with parents, internal and external stakeholders both orally and in written formats
- Adhere to state and federal Title 1 mandated rules, regulations, and compliance policies
- Provide a parent presentation/orientation on all Title I mandated programs
- Attend all mandatory meetings and trainings
- Perform all other duties as assigned that are related to the PFE requirements noted in noted in ESSA, Section 1116

- High School diploma or GED
- Experience with community outreach in an educational setting preferred
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both orally and in writing
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications and general office skills
- Ability to organize, prioritize, meet deadlines, and coordinate multiple programs
- Ability to work independently, within guidelines, and in a team setting
- Ability to perform a variety of tasks in fast-paced environment
- Ability to work flexible hours, including some nights as needed
