Workdays: Monday – Friday

Summary: 


Under the supervision of Refugee Cash and Medical Assistance Director, the RMA Specialist primary responsibility is to ensure that services are provided in a planned, effective and timely manner to eligible clients. The RMA Specialist will gathers information from eligible clients to apply Refugee Medicaid assistance benefit on e-RED system and facilitates communication with Client, Case workers and the Point of Comfort Insurance company to arrange interpretation/ transportation services for RMA clients. Ensure that dependable and consistent coordination of services for all eligible clients is provided in timeframe that the funding source expected.


Position Responsibilities:


  • * Works with clients and staff members of other refugee programs to strategize an appropriate service plan and address needs related to Refugee Medical Assistance (RMA) Services.
  • * Access to e-RED system and apply for RMA for qualified clients within 7 working days.
  • * Follows-up with RMA applications and benefit determination letters and provide the information to the Refugee Clinic.
  • * Coordinates with clients, staff, and Refugee Health Clinic staff in scheduling vaccines and health screening.
  • * Provides direct service support and referrals as needed and works together with other programs in areas of RMA, health and emergency services in regard to the client/client's service plan.
  • *Write case note in electronic file and document the services provided for the case under RMA services.
  • Print the RMA card from the e-RED system and deliver the RMA cards to clients by giving them orientation how this card can be used.
  • Reports on activities, visits, and special client concerns to the Director and other staff during required staff meetings or as needed.  
  • Able to input and retrieve data from an external online Refugee Database, and Internal spreadsheets for data management to keep track of all client information and program goals.
  • Reviews and maintains accurate and up-to-date client files, including case-notes, assessments, filing and other required paperwork.

Requirements

   

Minimum Qualifications:


  • Education

o bachelor’s degree preferred but not required; or equivalent of 2 – 4 years’ experience in a social service field.

  • License and Credentials

o Reliable transportation

o Valid driver license, with clean driving record

o Valid vehicle insurance

o Must be 21 years of age and adhere to the CCAOSA policy, which will not allow anyone under the age of 21 to operate an agency vehicle.

  

Minimum Knowledge and Skills:

  • Knowledge of client files documentation and record keeping.
  • Skilled in using personal computer, various software, email and internet
  • A solid grasp of file documentation and record keeping.
  • Must be detail oriented, organized, self-motivated, work well independently and on a team.
  • Must have good written and verbal skills.
  • Must have good critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to drive and maintain reliable personal transportation.
  • Able to drive a 12-passenger vehicle when necessary.
