Compensation includes a base salary of $106,700.00 - $177,900.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.

Job Description

The Lead Release Engineer will work in collaboration with product, engineering, operational stakeholders to develop and coordinate a comprehensive release and change management strategy that includes continuous delivery best practices as well as integration, end-to-end (E2E), and functional test strategies across various program implementations. The ideal candidate has prior experience with System Integration and E2E test processes from discovery through implementation. The person in this role can assess and understand the overall program scope including integration, testing, and release implications.

Job Family Responsibilities:

  • Assisting development team members with merging completed code into new releases.

  • Works with delivery and operations teams to define transition to production requirements.

  • Leading UAT efforts: scheduling, testing scope and execution, documenting, capturing approvals, and providing notifications for delivery into production.

  • Working knowledge of ITIL Processes: change, release, incident, problem management.

  • Develops and maintains comprehensive release, change management and testing documentation.

  • Collaborates with multi-functional teams to drive and improve the functional and integration testing within the release process.

  • Builds and maintains pipelines to facilitate continuous delivery of software to multiple non-production and production environments.

  • Coordinates build / deployment schedules and works with Change Management in deploying releases.

  • Tracks system and service performance in non-production environments, identifying and resolving issues and/or escalating to appropriate technical authority.

  • Ensures all changes are delivered in a way that honors and maintains the integrity and availability of existing systems.

  • Collaborates with technical peers to troubleshoot and resolve escalated production, integration, application or quality issues

  • Works with development and QA teams to identify and resolve issues / risks related to release across technical stacks and infrastructure.

  • Identifies and implements best practices throughout the software development lifecycle.

  • Manages key phases of QA and release planning, ensuring the effective identification and resolution of technical issues

  • Collaborates cross-functionally with engineering and product teams to support large-scale integrations and the implementation of new technologies.

  • Partners cross-functionally to facilitate / support rollout schedules and technology releases

  • Works across teams to ensure cohesion and collaboration.

  • Collaborates with boundary partners to define and develop technologies in support of internal and external business needs in a DevOps environment.

  • Facilitates / leads cross-functional groups to identify and validate technology release strategy.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience with end-to-end system integration testing

  • 10+ years’ experience with leading, mentoring team members in a remote or hybrid environment.

  • Experience with various testing methodologies (functional, integration, regression, smoke, UAT, black box)

  • Experience with hands-on manual testing of cloud platforms, backend testing, front-end testing

  • Experience with production support and ticketing systems such as Salesforce and ServiceNow.

  • Experience with troubleshooting and driving defect resolution with product and development teams

  • Understand end-user objectives to ensure solutions are functional and E2E tested by understanding key integration points across the organization.

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline and 6 years’ experience in a related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master’s degree and 4 years’ experience; a Ph.D. and 1 year of experie
