EXTRUSION IS A VALUED DEPARTMENT

Supervisors, shift leads, and operators work together to produce Polywood's hdpe lumber within the quality standards and rates. We take hdpe plastic pellets, color chips, recycled plastic pellets and regrind (previously made lumber ground up) mix them together then melt them at about 350 degrees in a 14ft screw that pressurizes it into a die giving it the shape and size needed.

It is then cooled with water for a hundred feet and cut to the correct length with an automatic saw, then inspected and stacked on wood skids by the operators and sent to production.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.

Other duties may be assigned.

  • Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand.
  • Counts, weighs, and records number of units lumber and scrap and list on daily production sheet.
  • Attaches identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information on cases, bales, or other containers.
  • Stacks or assembles materials into bundles as well as builds and repairs new skids.
  • Operates industrial truck to assist in loading or moving materials and products.
  • General maintenance and keep work area clean, neat and trash dumped.
  • Replace fuel container in power lift truck as necessary.
  • End of shift duties.
