Summary of Job Duties:

The Licensed Practical Nurse in the GYN/Women's Clinic provides direct patient care and provides other patient services in an ambulatory clinic setting. This nurse is supervised by the Registered GYN/Women’s Clinic Nurse to help support a team of four medical providers. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Direct patient care: maintaining patient flow by preparing patients for and assisting medical providers with exams and procedures, initiating lab and treatments per protocol, patient education, returning patient phone calls and web portal messages and administration of medications and immunizations.
Indirect patient care responsibilities include insurance pre-certification, prescription refill requests, maintaining recall logs for abnormal pap smears and lab results, community outreach activities, ordering and maintaining supplies and following the infection control plan and procedures. Collaboration with nursing staff from Primary Care Clinic as needed. Other duties as assigned.

This position holds significant responsibility as a “remote essential” role. In challenging situations such as inclement weather or emergencies, when the Pat Walker Health Center or campus needs to close, our dedicated team of medical professionals will be on standby to serve our campus community’s needs through telehealth if dee
