The VP – Quality & Clinical Effectiveness is responsible for strategic planning and implementation of Quality and Safety programs and initiatives across the system, in both inpatient and ambulatory settings. Responsible for development of a planned, systematic, organized implementation of the ISO:9001 compliant quality management system in multi-hospital healthcare system. Designs, implements, and deploys ISO:9001 Internal Audit Program across the system. Leads the team(s) responsible for preparation and coordination across the Methodist Healthcare system for continuous regulatory, accreditation, quality, risk, and quality management. Serves as advisor and subject matter expert in EMTALA, accreditation, CMS, State, and other regulatory agency and professional organization standards. Designs and implements individual, team and organizational processes in accordance with philosophy and objectives of the Patient Safety and Quality Division and accreditation agencies. Reviews and evaluates the provision of interpreting services throughout the System, plans and implements educational activities. Serves as the liaison for community outreach efforts for organizations that represent patients and families with Limited English Proficiency or Disabilities such as Visually Impaired, Deaf or Hard of Hearing, and collaborates with the Congregational Health Network in providing multi-cultural outreach for patient navigation. What you will do

  • Provides leadership to optimize and integrate quality and safety across the system and the continuum of care.
  • Oversight for developing and building the quality/safety initiatives that will serve as foundation of clinical integration efforts.
  • Collaborates with Quality Directors and Medical Directors of both inpatient and ambulatory entities throughout MLH.
  • Leads system coordination of clinical safety processes: Infection prevention, risk management/prevention, medication safety.
  • Provides leadership/oversight of accreditation and regulatory readiness, including interpretive services, EOC and disaster/emergency management.
  • Provides oversight and leadership of clinical decision support, data systems, outcomes, and innovation – including Methodist Quality Institute Activities.
  • Provides leadership in clinical standardization and clinical practice integration initiatives; leads and champions initiatives driving cost efficiencies and operational process improvement.
