The Protected Communication Systems (PCS) Team in Marlborough, MA is seeking an experienced Principal Systems Engineer in a role committed to creating creative and cost-effective solutions for our ground and airborne systems. As part of Collins Mission Systems, we specialize in developing advanced communication systems, ground and flight computers, sensors, cyber and software solutions, as well as providing integration of Mission Systems. As part of the PCS Department, the Systems Engineering department supports a variety of communications systems including SATCOM (including AEHF, EHF, X-Band, Ka-Band, Ku-Band, C-Band, and PTW), Line-of-Site (LOS) Radio Terminals and Secure Switching Networks.

What You Will Do
    • Leading system trade studies, requirements analysis, architecture, allocation to subsystems
    • Managing numerous and undefined problems and issues requiring detailed information gathering, analysis, and investigation
    • Overseeing the development of full lifecycle solutions from CONOPS to Validation
    • Acting as a Subject Matter Expert within discipline with advanced to expert knowledge of work area
    • Managing moderately sized projects or processes
    • Working to influence within and outside of work area at an operational level regarding policies, practices, and procedures within the organization
    • Influencing decision-makers with recommended courses of action
    • Coaching and reviewing the work of lower level professionals

Qualifications You Must Have
    • Experience leading a team in requirements development and system architecture
    • Knowledge of or application of Earned Value Management System
    • Proficient in tooling to include Microsoft products, or tasking boards (Jira, IBM EWM, etc.)
    • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience
    • Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date
    • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Qualifications We Prefer
    • Proficient in tooling to include CAMEO, Rhapsody
    • Agile working environment experience
    • Systems support to software application and hardware development
    • System or application integration
    • Proposal support experience including writing Basis of Estimates (BOEs)
    • Experience in Communication Radio and Systems: SATCOM, LOS/BLOS, AEHF, PTW, or V/UHF
    • Experience in Scripting
