Job Description
We are looking for a talented Staff Software Engineer (React / Angular) to join our team. You will work closely with our product and design teams to build and maintain our web applications and Design System. You will be responsible for writing clean and efficient code using React, Redux, and other related technologies. You will also collaborate with other engineers to design and implement new features and troubleshoot and debug issues as they arise.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Participate in enterprise architecture planning and strategy sessions.
- Advocate for the latest developments in web application best practices, tooling, and frameworks.
- Develop strategies for reusable code and libraries for future use.
- Lead and mentor more junior engineers in the development of clean and efficient code that meets our coding standards.
- Build and maintain our web application using React, Redux, and other related technologies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including designers and product managers, to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Work with stakeholders and architects to deliver critical functionality to users.
- Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs.
- Perform automated and manual testing for accessibility, performance, and cross-browser compatibility.
- Work closely with other engineers to ensure code quality and project deadlines are met.
- Utilize GitLab for source control.
- Lead code reviews, participate in pull requests and provide constructive feedback to other team members.
- Mentor and guide junior developers as needed.
Qualifications
- 7 + years’ experience in application design, software development, and maintenance.
- Expert with JavaScript, React, Redux, and other related technologies.
- Expert understanding of web standards, responsive web design, and atomic/modular design principles.
- Security mindedness in development practices.
- Expert UI development proficiencies, including:
- HTML / HTML5
- CSS / CSS3 / SCSS
- Expert knowledge of image authoring tools, to be able to crop, resize, or perform small adjustments on an image. Familiarity with tools such as Photoshop.
- Experience with micro frontends (e.g., mono repository, multi repository, meta repository).
- Comprehension of and strategy for various micro frontend architectures.
- Experience with web accessibility using WCAG, Section 508, and WAI-ARIA standards.
- Experience with Figma, Axure, Storybook.
- Experience with tools like Grunt/Gulp, Assemble, Bower, Yeoman.
- Experience with Node.js and server-side rendering.
- Experience with testing frameworks such as Jest, Enzyme, and Cypress.
- Experience with performance optimization techniques.
- Experience with Git or other version control systems.
- Experience with Agile development methodologies and tools (e.g., Jira).
- Experience with Linux.
- Experience with one of AWS, GCP, Azure and cloud-based architectures.
- Ability to work well independently as well as part of a team.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.
Bonus Points
- A portfolio of completed projects that demonstrate your skills and expertise.
- Experience with Docker.
- Experience with Kubernetes.
