We're looking for an experienced Software Engineer to join our ZDX team. Reporting to the Sr. Manager, you will be responsible for:

• You will be expected to participate in all phases of the product development cycle, from definition, design, through implementation and test.
• You will develop functional specifications, assess task requirements and scheduling, and participate in the development, debug, and support.
• You will be working on design and code components of a large-scale distributed system with a keen sense for high performance and scalability, troubleshooting issues with a hawkish acumen.
• You will work with other feature teams, Operations and Support (when needed) to help keep a healthy cloud and happy customer and at the end of the day – display accountability of areas assigned to you.

What We're Looking for (Minimum Qualifications)

• 3+ years of software development experience.
• Familiarity with Programming in C.
• Knowledge of software development on Unix/ Linux systems.
• Handling of REST APIs.
• Understanding of L4-L7 network model, TCP/IP networking stack.

What Will Make You Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)

• Software design, profiling, and verification skills.
• Programming in Rust or Go.
• Good in fundamentals - Operating System concepts, Event-based programming, Multi-threading, Memory optimization, Fault Tolerance, good debugging and troubleshooting skills.

This role is based in our San Jose, CA office (hybrid, 3 days a week in office).

Zscaler’s salary ranges are benchmarked and are determined by role and level. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations and could be higher or lower based on a multitude of factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

The base salary range listed for this full-time position excludes commission/ bonus/ equity (if applicable) + benefits.

Base Pay Range$105,000—$150,000 USD
