The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum has an opening for a full-time, exempt Director of Institutional Giving in the Development Department.
Company Overview: Located in the heart of downtown Nashville, the Country Music Hall of Fame® and Museum documents and interprets the history of country music—a musical genre and culture central to the identity of the city, the state, and the nation. Accredited by the American Alliance of Museums, the museum proudly combines subject expertise, ambitious research, and preservation of an unparalleled collection with expressions of creativity in music, art, and history. The museum collects artifacts that illustrate the evolving history and traditions of country music and provides diverse learning opportunities through educational programs, publications, and exhibitions. The core exhibit follows the story of country music from its folk beginnings through its evolution as a commercial art form. Rotating exhibits examine a broad range of topics, from country classics to contemporary and emerging artists in American Currents. The museum owns Hatch Show Print, a letterpress print shop opened in 1879, and it operates Historic RCA Studio B, where Elvis Presley and many others recorded.

Position Overview: The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum is seeking a strategic and experienced Director of Institutional Giving to oversee and integrate the Museum's corporate, foundation, and government fundraising efforts. This position will provide leadership and coordination across both grant-seeking and corporate sponsorship initiatives, ensuring a unified approach to securing critical financial support. The Director will manage and support the Senior Manager of Institutional Giving and the Senior Manager of Corporate Partnerships, fostering collaboration and maximizing opportunities for resource development. The position requires a strong background in fundraising, relationship management, and strategic planning, with a passion for advancing the Museum's mission. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape and lead the Museum’s institutional and corporate fundraising strategy, ensuring sustainable growth and impact. The ideal candidate will be a visionary leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about advancing the mission of the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum.
Specific Job Duties Include:
Strategic Oversight and Leadership:
- Develop and implement a cohesive strategy for institutional and corporate giving that aligns with the Museum's mission, priorities, and financial goals.
- Lead and support the Senior Manager of Institutional Giving and the Senior Manager of Corporate Partnerships, ensuring synergy between grant-seeking and sponsorship efforts.
- Set revenue targets and performance metrics for both institutional and corporate fundraising, tracking progress and ensuring accountability.
- Serve as a primary liaison between Development, Marketing, Education, and Museum Services teams to align fundraising opportunities with Museum needs and initiatives.
Institutional Giving:
- Oversee the identification, cultivation, and stewardship of government and foundation funding sources.
- Provide guidance on grant proposal development, ensuring compelling narratives, accurate budgets, and strong compliance with funder guidelines.
