Job Summary
Join our team as a Lead (3rd Shift), a pivotal working leader role responsible for overseeing the safe and efficient operations within the designated production area. This position ensures consistent quality output while fostering a productive and supportive work environment. As a key contributor, you will guide your team to meet production goals, maintain high standards, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Primary Duties
- Supervise and support all production personnel within your assigned area, monitoring daily activities to ensure operational standards are consistently met and exceeded.
- Conduct regular performance observations of team members, providing detailed evaluations and feedback to supervisors to drive professional growth and accountability.
- Ensure strict adherence to company policies pertaining to picking, packing, material handling, auditing, safety, and housekeeping to promote a safe and compliant workplace.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and documentation relevant to your area, facilitating efficient tracking and reporting of production metrics.
- Track and analyze productivity and quality metrics, implementing strategies to guarantee that all production targets, including quantity and quality, are achieved daily.
- Perform initial quality checks on new jobs to prevent defects, and provide training and guidance to your team to uphold product standards and reduce waste.
- Possess comprehensive knowledge of all operational positions within the area, enabling effective cross-training and support for new and existing team members.
- Oversee the staging and readiness of subsequent jobs to ensure seamless workflow transitions, minimizing downtime and bottlenecks.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and recommend practical solutions to enhance productivity and operational efficiency.
- Operate motorized industrial equipment safely and competently as required to support production activities.
- Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work environment that complies with company and regulatory standards.
- Demonstrate punctuality and consistent attendance to support reliable shift coverage and team performance.
- Execute other duties as assigned to support overall departmental objectives and company success.
Qualifications
- Strong mathematical aptitude to accurately handle production calculations and quality assessments.
- Proven track record of excellent performance and safety compliance, with no active warnings or safety violations.
- Physical capability to lift, pack, and stack items up to 50 pounds safely and correctly.
- Flexibility and willingness to work overtime when production demands require, ensuring deadlines and targets are met.
- Commitment to strictly following safety protocols and using personal protective equipment to maintain a hazard-free environment.
- Demonstrated understanding of business operations, enabling effective decision-making aligned with company goals.
- Leadership experience preferred, with the ability to motivate, manage, and develop team members effectively.
- Ability to operate with minimal supervision, follow both written and verbal instructions, and take initiative in leadership responsibilities.
- Competence in time management, strategic planning, and proactive problem-solving to anticipate and address operational challenges.
- Engagement in continuous improvement efforts, contributing to projects aimed at enhancing processes and efficiency.
