Staff Embedded Software Engineer on Near Field Communication (NFC)

Overview:
Lucid Vehicles is seeking a highly skilled Embedded Software Engineer with expertise in secure systems. The successful candidate will focus on developing and integrating bootloaders, secure elements, secure storage, and NFC technology, with a preference for candidates who have experience in NFC and wireless charger integrated solutions.
Responsibilities:
· Design, develop, and implement bootloaders for secure embedded systems.
· Integrate and manage secure elements and secure storage solutions to protect sensitive data.
· Develop and optimize NFC functionality for automotive applications.
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate NFC with wireless charging solutions.
· Ensure that all security-related software meets performance, security, and reliability standards.
· Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to security best practices and coding standards.
· Debug and troubleshoot security-related software issues.
· Stay updated with the latest advancements in secure systems, NFC, and wireless charging technologies.
· Write and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including design specifications and security protocols.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
· Proven experience in embedded software development with a focus on secure systems.
· Strong knowledge of bootloaders, secure elements, and secure storage technologies.
· Hands-on experience with NFC technology and its application in secure systems.
· Familiarity with wireless charging integration is highly desirable.
· Proficiency in C/C++ programming languages.
· Experience with CAN communication protocols.
· Experience with security protocols, cryptographic algorithms, and secure communication.
· Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
· Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
· Knowledge of real-time operating systems (RTOS) and embedded development environments is a plus.
· Understanding of automotive security standards and regulations is a plus
Salary Range: The compensation range for this position is specific to the locations listed below and is the range Lucid reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position taking into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including job-related knowledge; skillset; experience, education and training; certifications; and other relevant business and organizational factors. Additional Compensation and Benefits: Lucid offers a wide range of competitive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability insurance, vacation, and 401k. The successful candidate may also be eligible to participate in Lucid’s equity program and/or a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing such programs.
