Salary Range: $85,000.00 - $106,500.00

Position Summary

In partnership with PI (Yunyu Xiao), the research manager will build a research team focused on mental health and suicide prevention to inform policy and clinical interventions. The role entails using large datasets such as electronic health records and national surveys for already-funded (e.g., 1RF1MH134649) and future NIH projects. Ideal candidates have strong project management and data analysis skills, and thrives working in a large, multidisciplinary, diverse team.

Job Responsibilities

  • Establishes and oversees subaward agreements.
  • Assists with the preparation and submission of progress reports.
  • Monitors resource allocations and ensures that funds are used accordance with external sponsors' policies. Resolves any deficits and/or inappropriate expenses.
  • Analyzes financial health to identify and resolve any financial issues.
  • Assists with the preparation and review of IRB protocols.
  • Ensures compliance with regulatory audits/inspections and/or internal reviews. Develops and recommends corrective action plans to address deficiencies identified. May serve as liaison to audit team(s) during on-site visits.
  • Assists in the preparation of the annual budget submission and projections. Supports and monitors research-related financial activities to ensure compliance with institutional and funding agency regulations.
  • Assists faculty in the preparation of grant submissions and associated documentation, which may include just-in-time documents, progress reports, routing forms, abstracts and manuscripts.
  • Manages the financial activity of grant portfolios, including pre- and post-award grant management activities.
  • Ensures compliance of departmental research effort reporting activities.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field

Experience

Approximately 4 years of related experience, preferably in an academic healthcare or research setting

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrated experience with budget and strategic financial planning.
