Origination & Advisory Technology

Origination & Advisory Technology aims to build long-term, trusted and mutually beneficial relationships with the major corporates, financial institutions, financial sponsors and sovereigns around the world. Our product is a core analytical platform serving various businesses and one of the key areas in Deutsche Bank’s strategy. In order to support the growth ambitions and to remain a leading global player in the competitive payments market, significant investment in the infrastructure of Deutsche Bank is applied.

The team consumes billions of records for reporting, deep data analysis, and advanced data science, and provides Deutsche Bank front office a clear view on client’s activity and profitability. We are building an interactive analytical platform, defining and tracking key business metrics, helping front office in day-to-day business decisions across Europe, APAC, and Americas.

As a Senior Data Platform/Infrastructure Engineer (f/m/x), you will become a part of a team building the Client 360 business domain’s data platform. We are looking for one who will help us to build sustainable data infrastructure used by engineers, analytical stakeholders and backend teams.

Your key responsibilities

• It’s in your hands to decide what can make everyone happy - new or better tools/automation, new platform components. Doing all this as optimally as possible.
• Deployment, configuration, and support of analytical DBMS (ClickHouse, PostgreSQL, etc.) in production and test environments.
• Configuring monitoring, logging, and alerting for data warehousing and processing systems.
• Support migration to hybrid-cloud setup for our data platform
• Automating deployment and scaling processes using IaC tools (Terraform, Ansible, etc.).
• Provide your expert’s advice on infrastructural services and cloud stack for operation support engineers (SL2) during incident investigation and mitigation. Work closely with software engineers on implementing new platform offerings

Your skills and experiences

• Sensible knowledge of Linux internals, expert shell scripting.
• Experience configuring, administering, and monitoring ClickHouse.
• Experience with PostgreSQL: configuration, replication, backup.
• Basic proficiency with at least one JVM language (Java, Scala/Kotlin) and Python
• Automation Experience: Hands-on experience with CI/CD platforms like classic ones (Teamcity/Jenkins) and modern ones (GitHub Actions is a plus)
• Verifiable experience with containers and orchestration (k8s), related tooling (like helm or grafana tanka).
• Sensible experience with major cloud providers (GCP is a strong plus). Infra as Code tools (like Terraform or Pulumi) is a must.
• Knowledge of monitoring systems (Prometheus + Grafana, Zabbix, or similar).
• Skills in debugging performance issues (CPU, IO, query execution plan, etc.).​-

- Nice to have:

• Distributed Systems experience: Operational experience with distributed services deployment (e.g. with rely on Apache Zookeeper, etcd), familiarity with Hadoop stack, Apache Spark, and analytical database system (like Clickhouse/BigQuery/Exadata)
• Enterprise Cloud Tools: Experience with OpenShift (plus), hybrid on-prem/cloud setups (like Google Anthos)
• Data pipeline orchestration tools – Experience with tools like Apache Airflow
