Summary
The Director/Patient Services is responsible for clinical care delivery, for leadership of Associates, for fiscal stewardship of the department's/unit(s)' resources, and for the creation of a positive clinical and Associate work environment. Provides leadership in process improvement, change management, strategic planning and business development, provider partnership, associate engagement, and quality management. Models appropriate behavior as exemplified in MLH Mission, Vision and Values.
Education/Experience/Licensure
Education/Formal Training Work Experience Credential/Licensure REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Nursing from an accredited program Four (4) years of related work and supervisory experience or comparable specialty area experienceLicensed to practice as a professional nurse in the state where work is performed or compact license
Effective June 1, 2018: All new hires and transfers are required to have BLS certification.
Preferred: MSN is preferred degree Previous experience as a Nurse Clinical Director Oncology Nursing Society certification Substitutions Allowed: N/A N/A N/A

- Ability to use data, interpret reports, analyze, draw conclusions, and make appropriate plans.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive strategic plan for Oncology Patient Services, outlining specific initiatives and action steps for each division.
- Evaluate the existing workflow, patient experience, and operational processes in collaboration with Clinical Nurse Managers.
- Assess the resource needs of each division and collaborate with relevant stakeholders to optimize resource allocation.
- Develop standardized protocols and best practices to ensure consistency and adherence to evidence-based guidelines.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of quality improvement efforts, making necessary adjustments as needed.
- Fosters a positive and collaborative work environment among the Clinical Nurse Managers and their teams.
- Schedules regular team meetings to establish open communication channels, discuss goals, challenges, and progress updates.
- Evaluates the existing workflow, patient experience, and operational processes in collaboration with Clinical Nurse Managers.
- Leads development and implementation of strategies for the safety of patients.
- Responsive to the outcomes of clinical care by participation in the development and implementation of improvement solutions.
- Supervises the caliber of treatment and care of the patients.
- Analyzes operations and monitors care delivery to identify areas for improvement.
- Effectively deploys the fiscal plan for the scope of responsibility.
- Responsible for staffing, training, discipline, evaluation, and policy/procedure implementation for nursing staff.
Physical Requirements
- The physical activities of this position may include climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion.
- Must have good balance and coordination.
- The physical requirements of this position are: medium work - exerting up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 25 lbs. of force frequently.
- The Associate is required to have close visual acuity including color, depth perception, and field of vision to perform an activity, such as assessing patients, preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; or extensive reading.
- Frequent invasive and non-invasive patient contact.
- Exposure to patient body fluids as well as exposure to hazardous or poisonous materials.
- Ability to react quickly to emergency situations.
