The Role:

The Quality Assurance Lead works under limited supervision and collaborates with Production, Quality and Engineering to continuously improve the overall quality performance and ensure compliance with quality standards. This person leads the quality inspectors that perform a variety of quality control test/inspections to incoming raw materials, packaging materials and/or finished products from manufacturing that ensure quality standards and compliance to customer and regulatory requirements.


Your contribution to our vision (responsibilities):

  • Responsible for the incoming/outgoing goods inspection area with support of the quality inspectors in day-to-day business.
  • Perform a variety of complex qualitative or quantitative tests on incoming material samples and finish good products.
  • Oversee instrument and equipment calibration system, coordinates certification of test equipment and gauges to ensure compliance.
  • Train department personnel in the proper use of QC lab equipment and interpretation of quality plans, and reviews and analyzes daily quality performance to identify, contain, control and improve quality.
  • Train new inspectors regarding policies, procedures, inspection techniques.
  • Assure gauges are within the current calibration cycle and are properly used and stored.
  • Setup maintenance repair for gauges when necessary.
  • Participate in design of experiments and process capability studies.
  • Review Statistical Process Control (SPC) data Monitor supplier performance, initiate, and follow up corrective actions with suppliers when necessary.
  • May plan, coordinate and perform process capability measurements and in-process inspection measurements.
  • Maintain quality inspectors time and activity records
  • Analyze data and writes summaries to validate or show deviations from existing standards.
  • Ensure documentation and procedures comply with customer specifications, industry standards and standard operating procedures but also recommends modifications or suggests new standards, methods and procedures.
  • Prepare graphs or charts of data or enter data into computer for analysis.
  • Adhere to all procedures within the company security policy and company safety and quality programs.
  • Support internal, customer, and third-party regulatory audits.
  • Maintain integrity of SPC data by correcting input errors, maintaining control limits, creating new files, and retraining as needed.
  • May inspect, measure, and test raw material in accordance with blueprints, requirements or engineering sketches.
  • Observe quality inspectors in assigned work area to ensure all housekeeping, health and safety regulations are followed.
  • Maintain files for batch history records. Review records for completeness and accuracy, validates Certificates of Compliance/analysis from suppliers of raw materials.
  • Maintain workflow, ensuring availability of proper materials.
  • Support Material Review Board (MRB) activities- reviewing, dispositioning, and resolving defects and nonconforming products/materials and requesting corrective and preventive actions (SCAR) to suppliers.
