ZF North America Inc. has job openings for the position of Senior Engineer - Systems based out of its location in Northville, MI.

 

Job Duties:  Responsible for all phases of system architecture design of electronic components used in powertrain systems; Analyze requirements and derive them into system requirements; Serve as technical contact for System Architecture & inverter system architecture topics; Identify components & System Functions required for implementation of system requirements; Responsible for specification of the cooperation of components for implementation of technical functions; Responsible for specification of common interfaces & dependencies between components & System Functions; Oversee & negotiate customer requirements & agreements on technical system requirements in DOORS; Collaborate with team to define system architecture consistent with technical requirements; Oversee system configuration definition & releases to ensure compatibility & testing of HW & SW levels; Define, develop software & hardware interface requirements to ensure requirements traceability; Provide status updates incl. escalation topics to stakeholders; Lead discussions & collaboration to implement systems engineering strategies based on V-Model principles; Ensure customer and system requirements are met; Support troubleshooting & analysis tasks; Work with development teams & customers during beta & pre-production testing and final implementation; and Lead feasibility studies with other project team engineers for new requirements or change requests. A hybrid (in-office & telecommute) work schedule is available.

 

Requirements:  Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or closely related field, plus 5 years of experience in systems engineering occupations or any occupation in which systems engineering experience was gained, and demonstrated experience with: Systems engineering for product development; Requirements management; Technical architecture and system design of electronic or mechatronic products; Functional Safety Standard ISO-26262; V Model development process; IBM Doors or Code Beamer; SAP; Axalant; CAN; LIN; and Electrical Data Acquisition Systems. We will accept a Bachelor’s degree equivalency earned through any combination of education and experience. All experience may be acquired concurrently.
