Weapons Modeling & Simulation Intern
ARAAbout the role
Applied Research Associates, Inc. (ARA), is currently seeking a Weapons Modeling & Simulation Intern to work in our Weapon Physics Group, Emerald Coast Division, located in Niceville, Florida. The Weapon Physics Group currently consists of scientists and engineers performing research and development in the areas of physics-based modeling and simulation, weapons effects, conventional munitions fuzing technology, detonation physics, and model optimization. The team uses various numerical tools to gain insight into complex physical phenomena and develop predictive modeling and simulation capabilities. Key customers include the US Air Force as well as other DoD clients.
Under direct supervision, the successful applicant will organize references and sources into a well-defined EndNote Database. This includes gathering references from various sources, consolidating them, organizing them, and gathering the required information for a citation entry.

Weapons Modeling & Simulation Intern Qualifications:
- Current high school student interested in fields such as engineering, mathematics, science or related fields.
- US. Citizenship
Weapons Modeling & Simulation Intern Required Skills:
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Able to work with little supervision, including setting and achieving interim milestones that support higher task objectives
- This position requires independent judgement and discretion
Modeling and Simulation Intern Desired Skills:
- Experience with EndNote Citation Manager
