We’re a team of dozens, serving millions of Bold.org members, with trillions in debt at stake. We’re innovating at the intersection of fintech, philanthropy, payments, and education, with an obsessive focus on profitable operations, unit economics, engineering long-term retention, and growth. If that resonates, we’d love to hear from you.
Position Description:Work directly with the CEO and executive team of a high-growth fintech platform with 6M+ members, taking ownership of growing site conversion, funnel optimization for Bold.org students, donors, and Bold Debit Card holders, core business revenue analytics and operations, and more.
Your primary goal will be to drive certainty and growth in the core business, taking on many of the CEO’s current day-to-day responsibilities and freeing him up to focus on our consumer fintech growth.
This is a great role for a future entrepreneur or anyone looking to learn and own best practices for profitable, data-driven startup operations.
Key Responsibilities
Role Responsibilities:- Create and scale a funnel analysis, optimization, and A/B testing program across our most critical student, donor, and cardholder funnel steps.
- Create and scale a retention engineering program focused on driving negative net dollar churn for our cohorts of Bold Debit Card holders.
- Own day-to-day revenue analytics and operations for our core revenue partnerships (including both affiliate and data partnerships) with the goal of growing net income to fund our fintech growth.
- Automate our most time-consuming growth and revenue operations processes, driving leverage across the entire company (including for yourself).
- Hire and/or take over management of key teams / individuals as relevant as you build and scale growth initiatives.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Required Skills:- Data analysis, including SQL. You’re comfortable diving into open-ended data problems yourself and don’t generally need help pulling relevant data.
- Growth. You have a strong basis in growth first principles like conversion rate optimization, usability testing, funnel optimization, etc. In-depth growth expertise across most topics within paid search, SEO, and retention engineering is required.
- Product sense. You have a strong track record of driving growth by making product and retention experiences more trustworthy, compelling, and easy to use.
- Automation. You’re strong at leveraging tools like Make.com, Zapier, AI, and Slack notifications to automate business processes.
- Bandwidth. You’re very good at getting a lot done quickly with excellence.
- Resourcefulness. You thrive in the chaos of startups and love making complicated, uncertain things simple.
- Communication. You give and receive feedback directly and easily, and you’re generally great to work with. Our team is globally distributed and often works across time zones, so strong written and verbal communication skills are a must.
- 5+ years successfully driving growth at high-growth, mid-stage start-ups as a hands-on owner, with a focus on product growth, funnel optimization, usability testing, and engineering retention.
- 3+ years of leadership or high ownership experience.
- An engineering or analytical degree from a highly competitive program.
- Experience in intense, highly competitive environments, e.g., elite athletics, entrepreneurship, investment banking, highly technical academic fields, endurance sports, etc.
- Please note that we don’t require a specific background. If you meet the required skills, we’d love to hear from you.
Benefits
