Job Description

The Director Merchandising Process and Data Governance will lead the development and optimization of merchandising processes to drive operational excellence and profitability. This role involves partnering with cross-functional teams, implementing strategic initiatives, and ensuring alignment with financial objectives. The Director will be responsible for key financial metrics and will play a pivotal role in fostering continuous improvement within the merchandising organization.

This position is Hybrid (4 days in office, 1 day remote), based at our corporate headquarters in Raleigh, North Carolina. Flexibility for occasional travel may be required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Process Development and Optimization: Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of merchandising processes to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and responsiveness to market demands.

  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Collaborate with teams across Merchandising, Supply Chain, IT, Finance, and Marketing to ensure seamless execution of merchandising strategies and alignment with business goals.

  • Strategic Planning: Develop and execute long-term merchandising process improvement strategies that align with the company’s vision and market trends, ensuring sustainable growth and competitive advantage.

  • Continuous Improvement: Support a culture of continuous improvement by identifying opportunities for process enhancements, implementing best practices, and leveraging data-driven insights to inform decision-making.

  • Stakeholder Communication: Provide regular updates to senior leadership on process performance, financial impacts, and strategic initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong leadership and team management abilities

  • Expertise in process development and continuous improvement methodologies

  • Advanced analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and financial metrics

  • Proficiency in project management and strategic planning

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • In-depth knowledge of retail merchandising strategies and financial principles

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant merchandising software

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain, Merchandising, or a related field; OR equivalent combination of experience and education. MBA or equivalent advanced degree is a plus.

  • 10+ years of experience in merchandising, operations, or a related field, with a proven track record of leading process optimization and driving financial performance.
