Position Summary
This individual reports to the Vice President – Corporate and Marketing Communications and will develop and execute traditional and social media strategy and project management to support the objectives of the various businesses that make up AMB Sports and Entertainment. This individual will be counted on to establish, grow and nurture productive relationships with local, national and international media; develop strategic communications plans; tell AMBSE stories through traditional and social media platforms; orchestrate media events; fulfill media requests; pitch and place enterprise stories; and support all facets of executive communications in support of AMBSE’s most senior leadership. Additionally, this position will be counted on to own and lead projects from start to finish.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Develop robust, integrated strategic communications plans in coordination with larger team
- Establish and maintain relationships with media and influencers
- Project Management to include strategy, planning, execution, budget management.
- Write and coordinate external communications
- Coordinate and service all content materials for media purposes to include press releases/announcements, video, photos, written materials, etc.
- Build and maintain robust as well as targeted media lists
- Proactive media outreach and story placement locally, nationally and internationally
- Fulfillment of incoming media requests
- Partner and collaborate with cross-departmentally with communications professionals and department leadership to support media outreach and event execution needs
- Logistical and content support for outbound executive communications
- Accompany members of executive management to media events
- Coordinate and maintain website content/Media Hub
- Monthly media reporting
- Social media strategy for MBS channels, AMBSE LinkedIn and Falcons LinkedIn
- Media event planning and execution
- Manage the HBCU Fellow during the Atlanta Falcons season, providing mentorship and professional development opportunities
Qualification Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Demonstrated success in proactive media outreach (story development and placement), social media execution and production of quality media materials
- Four (4) years of professional experience in a communications setting; i.e., PR agency, in-house communications department, etc.
- Experience with sports or sports/entertainment a plus
