Cruise is looking for an SoC and IP functional modeling engineer to help us develop the next generation silicon products for autonomous vehicles. In this position, you will be in the verification team responsible for developing functional models (bit accurate and cycle approximate) for advanced IPs.
In this position you will be working closely with Architecture team, design team, verification team and Upstream application team

What you’ll be doing:
- Working closely with hardware designers and architects to define modeling frameworks for validating next-generation custom acceleration hardware and providing framework to enable software teams to evaluate various network designs and implementations.

Work with Cruise architects and designers to understand the architecture and write, support and debug bit accurate and cycle approximate models

Work with the Cruise verification team to integrate this model to verify the IP in simulation, emulation and other platforms.

Collaborate with a broad set of partners to determine the right system and SoC trade-offs.
What you must have:

MS Degree with 5+ years or equivalent experience
-
Understanding of HW (architecture, digital design) and SW (compilers, algorithms, performance optimization) concepts involved in creation or evaluation of ML accelerator IP

Strong capability writing and debugging in C/C++

Excellent communication skills, able to present work to cross functional teams

Experience writing cycle accurate/approximate performance models of hardware.

Experience in SoC and IP verification

Experience performing performance analysis
-
Experience Python programming and scripting
Bonus points!

Experience with SystemC and TLM.

Experience with UVM based verification environment

Direct experience with a machine learning framework such as TensorFlow or PyTorch

Have written bit accurate models.

Are able to take ownership of modeling and performance analysis and make clear recommendations to the team based on defined objectives.

Research or industry project experience in ML accelerator design, modeling or evaluation targeting SoC or FPGA
The salary range for this position is $200,500 - $237,500. Compensation will vary depending on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. You may also be offered a bonus, restricted stock units, and benefits. These ranges are subject to change.
