About the role

Resource Innovations is seeking a Senior Energy Efficiency Program Manager to join our growing Solution Delivery team in California. As a Senior Energy Efficiency Program Manager with Resource Innovations, you will be primarily responsible for leading the management of a large energy efficiency program to ensure we meet and exceed client expectations. This may include managing a team of engineers who are developing complex projects in the high tech and biotech industry; tracking and ensuring Program deliverables are met; identifying and implementing program efficiencies; and working cross collaboratively with internal teams and sub-contractors. This highly visible position will require strong project management and people skills to drive program objectives and initiatives forward.

Duties and Responsibilities

Program Management

  • Responsible for tracking and problem-solving overall program deliverables, schedules and milestones for a large energy efficiency program
  • Leads problem resolution activities, including working with colleagues and subcontractors to resolve issues or prepping materials to brief senior leadership if their attention is needed
  • Analyze data, identify trends, and make strategic decisions to achieve program goals.
  • Identifies opportunities to improve program tools and processes, leads process optimization and implementation.
  • Forecasts spending (staff time and direct costs) and revenues for assigned programs and portfolios.
  • Prepares weekly and monthly reports for internal and external purposes, ensuring compliance with terms of contract, relevance of content, and professional presentation.
  • Participates in program leadership team meetings, supports cross-functional knowledge sharing.

Project Development & Management

  • Develops relationships with industry leaders and high-level client contacts to encourage them to implement cost-effective resource efficiency solutions.
  • Consults with customers and trade allies to promote modern energy efficiency technology, methods, and best practices.
  • Research new energy efficiency technologies and applications to improve and expand energy efficiency offerings.
  • Manages start-up projects that will be handed off to new team members in the future.

Leadership

  • Leads program implementation strategies to achieve project goals and encourage customers to implement resource efficiency projects.
  • Directs and coordinates project engineering staff and subcontractors to ensure overall program success.
  • Monitors program workflow and performance, supports operational improvement projects
  • Coordinates with internal support teams and cross functional teams including Operations, Finance, IT, Engineering, and Marketing.
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Energy, Building Science, Environmental Science, Construction Management or related field of study
  • Program management experience in developing and implementing scopes, budgets and plans
  • 7+ years of previous energy efficiency related experience
  • Previous leadership and management experience
  • Previous project development and client facing experience
  • Experience working in California
  • Strong analytical capabilities and communication skills
  • Excellent excel and power point skills
  • Experience tracking budgets and/or project schedules
  • Flexible and able to continuously prioritize tasks
  • Superior interpersonal/client skills; ability to handle confidential situations
  • Enjoys a fast-paced, complex environment

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Engineering experience, especially with high-tech bio-tech customers.
  • Advanced energy related certifications such as Certified Energy Manager (CEM) Certification
