Painter

Schedule: Monday - Friday, flexible hours

Pay Rate:  up to $23.00 per hour

POSITION SUMMARY:  Responsible for performing accurate and efficient painting and wall coverings. Duties to include, but not limited to, the interior and exterior maintenance of painted areas of the community.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Perform assigned painting/wallcovering as directed.
2. Maintain the esthetics of high traffic common areas (painting and wallcovering).
3. Restore painted areas in vacated units to like-new conditions.
4. Perform drywall repairs as needed.
5. Accomplishes all work in the order of priority set by supervisor.
6. Take all safety precautions concerning residents, staff and visitors (i.e. utilize ‘wet paint’ signs, safety cones, and caution tape).
7. Maintain all tools, equipment and supplies in proper condition. 

GENERAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Observe and abide by all regulations to ensure that personal health information is protected during its collection, use, disclosure, storage, and destruction within the community; and to ensure only the minimum necessary information is known to function in this position.
2. Complete assignments timely, completely and accurately.
3. Attend all in-services as assigned or requested.
4. Observe all community safety policies and procedures.
5. Is observant of safety hazards and emergency situations, and reports to appropriate person or takes corrective action according to established procedures.

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:

• Three to five years of painting/wallcovering experience in a residential setting

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Working knowledge of commercial and residential painting/wallcovering.
• Proficiency in the English language enabling the employee to read, write, comprehend and communicate simple instructions, correspondence, memos, etc.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.

PHSYICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Tools, equipment, machines used on the job:

• Ladder, step stools, etc.
• General painting/maintenance equipment: brushes, sanding tools, paint rollers, etc.

Physical activities of the position:

• Lifts and carries up to 50 lbs. with assistance occasionally
• Pushes and pulls up to 50 lbs. with assistance occasionally
• Walking, standing, pushing, stooping, bending and stretching frequently
• Must be able to climb and descend ladders and stairs.

Physical requirements of the job:

• Medium work – exerts up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally to move objects.
