About the role
Role Summary:
Ensure that all the duties of the overseeing department are carried out safely, accurately, and timely. Foster a culture that focuses on safety, people, quality, responsiveness, and cost.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
Operational Excellence
- Engage and lead direct reports in the execution of LEAN tools and process improvements
- Create and train staff in standard work expectations
- Applies and mentors advanced techniques to ensure effectiveness of training program
- Lead and contribute to problem solving activities to drive operational excellence throughout all facets of operation
Equipment Operations and Maintenance
- Lead direct reports in proper use and function of equipment
- Lead direct reports to follow equipment procedures
- Collaborate across departments to drive employee led maintenance activities
Data and Technology Controls
- Lead Execution and collaborate with support teams to ensure equipment is operating at optimal levels
- Collaborate across departments to find root cause and determine corrective action
- Lead direct reports in the evaluation of data elements across department
Performance Execution
- Lead direct reports in driving performance related to all KPI's
- Lead and execute on actionable ideas to improve utilization across storage and equipment
- Lead direct reports in driving performance related to all requirements
EH&S Stewardship
- Lead direct reports in executing and improving on safety related items
- Lead direct reports in executing and improving on environmental related items
- Lead direct reports in executing and improving on waste elimination related items
Role Qualifications:
- Minimum 5+ years relevant functional experience.
- High school diploma plus on-the-job training / experience.
- Preferred: Relevant certification or equivalent experience.
Physical and Environmental Requirements
Weight-Handling Requirements
- Lifting and Carrying: Ability to lift, carry, and move items weighing between 30-50 lbs. repeatedly throughout a shift.
- Overhead Lifting: Occasionally lifting items above shoulder level.
- Pulling and Pushing: Moving heavy objects using tools like pallet jacks, dollies, or carts.
General Physical Abilities
- Standing and Walking: Prolonged periods of standing and walking, often on concrete floors. Shifts may last 8-12 hours.
- Bending and Stooping: Regular bending, squatting, kneeling, or twisting to pick up or organize items.
- Reaching and Stretching: Ability to reach above or below waist level to retrieve or store goods.
- Climbing: Occasionally climbing ladders or stairs to access products stored at higher levels.
Endurance and Stamina
- Performing physically demanding tasks in varying conditions (e.g., cold storage, hot warehouse spaces).
- Repeating motions like lifting, bending, or carrying without fatigue for an entire shift.
Coordination and Dexterity
- Good hand-eye coordination for picking, packing, or sorting items.
- Manual dexterity for operating tools or machinery (e.g., forklifts, scanners).
Additional Requirements
- Vision: Ability to see clearly for reading labels, identifying items, and operating machinery safely.
- Hearing: Ability to hear alarms, instructions, or warning signals in a noisy environment.
- Physical Health: Must meet any health standards (e.g., no restrictions that would prevent lifting or moving objects).
