Supervisor - Environmental Services

<p><strong>Position Objective</strong></p><p>The Supervisor of Environmental Services directs the housekeeping services operation, ensuring the hospital a high level of sanitation and appearance for patients, visitors, and staff, by maintaining a competent, efficient, and sufficiently supplied work force.</p><p>This position has authority to perform supervisory duties including but not limited to hiring, evaluating performance, issuing final disciplinary actions under the review of Human Resources, and recommending discharge in collaboration with members of management and Human Resources</p><p><strong>Essential Job Duties:</strong></p><p>Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.</p><ol><li>Establishes and distributes daily&nbsp;work assignments, scheduling routine tasks and special areas for cleaning.</li><li>Monitors and inspects assigned&nbsp;areas to observe staff activities as part of the continuous performance&nbsp;improvement. Monitors/observe employees following EVS Standard work&nbsp;processes (Gemba)</li><li>Continuous rounding/talking with&nbsp;patients to ensure quality patient satisfaction and cleanliness</li><li>Ensures compliance with department&nbsp;standards and safety regulations.</li><li>Determines room vacancies and&nbsp;related scheduling of project cleaning needs.</li><li>Ensures compliance with&nbsp;regulations, Joint Commission requirements, and departmental standards in&nbsp;the areas of health, safety, and sanitation.</li><li>Coordinates and monitors the&nbsp;orientation and on-the-job training activities for new employees; conducts&nbsp;continuing training as required.</li><li>Compiles monthly supplies&nbsp;utilization and supplies cost reports as assigned; distributes them for&nbsp;review as required.</li><li>Coordinates linen inventories as&nbsp;assigned; makes sure units have adequate linen supplies.</li><li>Performs daily quality assurance inspections in all areas of responsibility utilizing internal software&nbsp;EPIC and VeriClean and download results prior to end of shift. Submits a weekly&nbsp;report outlining areas of deficiencies and plans to improve quality.</li></ol><p><strong>Educational/Experience Requirements:</strong></p><ul><li>Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate within one year of hire.</li><li>Two years’ experience performing work in an environmental or service related field.</li></ul><p><strong>Required License/Certifications:</strong></p><ul><li>If&nbsp;serving as a bilingual/multilingual interpre
