Pharmacy Technician 1 - Fulltime

Inova Fairfax Hospital is seeking experienced Pharmacy Technician 1 to join their team.

The Pharmacy Technician 1 procures and distributes medications per physician and Pharmacist requests or prearranged work assignments according to established policies, procedures, and protocols. Maintains adequate stock of medications and supplies and takes ownership for the control, accountability, and distribution of controlled drugs in the Pharmacy. 

This is a full-time 36-hrs Monday-Friday various shift and rotating weekends position.

Job Responsibilities:

• Maintains adequate stock of medications and supplies according to established policies.
• Accurately pre-packs medications and restocks code cart and stock kits.
• Restocks assigned areas, puts away unused medications in addition to utilizing want book and associated inventory management procedures.
• Orders items, properly stocks shelves, processes returns and identifies vendor errors.
• Accurately fills automated dispensing devices and unit dose pick, first doses and floor stock.
• Assists Pharmacist in drug selection and counting medications accurately.

Qualifications:

 Experience:

• One (1) years of experience working as a Pharmacy Technician a hospital.

Education:

• High School or GED.

Certifications:

• Basic Life Support (BLS) within 3 months of hire.

License:

• Registered Pharmacy Technician in the state of Virginia or a Pharmacy intern license.
