Job Description

Job Purpose

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Accounting, you will work with a collaborative finance team to prepare financial reporting and accounting analysis. This proactive role will work with a talented finance and systems team to perform a broad range of responsibilities, demonstrating judgement, professionalism, and attention to detail and proven experience working with other functions to share financial information, follow policies, and implement process improvements.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a partnership with key stakeholders across the organization to collect quality information for the month-end closing process to support the preparation of financial statements and management reporting package.
  • Drive improvements to the reporting processes to increase accuracy and efficiency.
  • Monitor and supervise direct reports, support and assist with daily tasks and questions
  • Monitor shared services activities to ensure accuracy and completeness of daily and monthly tasks, as well as confirm deadlines are met by shared service team. 
  • Be the “go-to” person for general ledger and reporting within SAP, as part of this process document processes and recommend process improvements.
  • In addition to financial statements, prepare journal entries, variance analysis, account reconciliations and year-end audit schedules.
  • Supervise and support Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable processes. 

 

Knowledge, Experience and Technical Skills

  • Adept fast-learner who understands US GAAP, month end close, and working capital cycle.
  • Proven experience with understanding accounting concepts.
  • Detail oriented and possess strong problem solving skills.
  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Active listener and clear communicator who encourages collaboration and cross functional process improvements.
  • Flexibility to respond to changes in priorities while maintaining a high degree of engagement and productivity.
  • Takes accountability for areas of responsibility.
  • Self-motivated with initiative to act independently.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance with 7-10 years of accounting experience with 1-2 years of supervisory experience
