Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for ongoing training and performance evaluations of the Sales Team.
- Work closely with the Sales Team to develop and control Sales programs.
- Develop strategies to acquire new customers or clients.
- Oversee daily activities of Sales Department.
- Assign sales territory and accounts to Account Representatives.
- Analyze sales statistics to formulate policies and assist in promoting sales.
- Analyze current market conditions and trends to determine pricing levels needed to achieve sales and profit goals and forecasts.
- Analyze sales results and develop plans to improve performance.
- Analyze and control Sales Department expenditures.
- Prepare periodic sales reports showing sales volume/revenue.
- Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the Department.
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
- Assist Sales Team in resolving escalated customer issues and complaints regarding sales and service.
- Monitor competition, economic indicators, and industry trends to make recommendations for continued sales growth.
- Ensure Sales Team adheres to the sales process and policies.
- Assist in recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and training of new Account Representatives as needed.
- Monitor inventory.
- Develop inventory levels based on current market forecast.
- Assist Account Representatives and Outside Sales Representatives as needed.
- 2-5 years relevant experience or any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skill and abilities required.
- High School diploma/GED required, Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- Strong leadership, account management, and negotiation skills.
- In-depth knowledge of the metals industry and related production processes.
- Excellent communication, customer service, and conflict resolution abilities.
- Highly organized with strong time management, analytical, and mathematical skills.
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong computer proficiency and working knowledge of Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams) as well as internet search engines required.
