Certified Industrial Hygenist

Position Overview: As a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), you will play a key role in assessing and managing workplace hazards and exposures to protect the health and safety of workers. You will conduct comprehensive industrial hygiene assessments, evaluate exposure risks, and develop strategies to mitigate hazards and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in industrial hygiene principles and practices, along with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.Key Responsibilities:Industrial Hygiene Assessments:Conduct industrial hygiene assessments and exposure evaluations to identify and characterize workplace hazards, including chemical, biological, physical, and ergonomic hazards.Perform air sampling, noise monitoring, ventilation assessments, and other industrial hygiene testing as needed to evaluate exposure levels.Exposure Risk Assessment:Evaluate exposure risks and assess the potential health effects of workplace hazards on workers.Interpret exposure data and recommend control measures to minimize exposures and protect worker health.Regulatory Compliance:Stay current with federal, state, and local regulations related to industrial hygiene and occupational health.Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and guidelines, including OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory agencies.Risk Management and Control Strategies:Develop and implement risk management strategies and control measures to prevent or minimize workplace exposures.Provide recommendations for engineering controls, administrative controls, and personal protective equipment (PPE) to mitigate hazards.Training and Education:Provide training and education to workers, supervisors, and management on industrial hygiene principles, hazard recognition, and control measures.Communicate findings and recommendations effectively to stakeholders through reports, presentations, and training sessions.Qualifications:Bachelor's or master's degree in industrial hygiene, occupational health, environmental health, or related field.Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) certification required.3+ years of experience in industrial hygiene practice, including conducting exposure assessments, air sampling, noise monitoring, and ventilation evaluations.Strong knowledge of industrial hygiene principles, exposure assessment techniques, and regulatory requirements.Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.Proficiency in industrial hygiene sampling equipment and data analysis software.
