Job Description

In this role, you will be responsible for leading process improvement activities for the region, identifying projects to meet plant yield, safety, productivity, cast, and performance metric goals. You must be highly motivated and able to produce results in a timely manner. The position is dynamic & requires the ability to adapt and be open to change. Providing support with the willingness to perform additional duties as required in order to promote and enhance the Organizational Excellence business system at Precoat Metals is essential.  Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing the Organization Excellence Business System for the Region
• Collects and summarizes Voice of the Customer (VOC) data & review with management to identify key projects.
• Champions lean six sigma improvement philosophy by initiating appropriate action to meet or exceed plant & HQ goals.
• Utilizes mistake proofing, innovative thinking, and waste elimination techniques to permanently reduce waste.
• Identifies and follows the appropriate problem solving roadmap to initiate & implement timely process changes.
• Continues to spread the Organizational Excellence culture by conducting training, facilitating cross-functional improvement teams, and reviewing potential best practices.
• Follows up on open actions using appropriate facilitating and managerial skills.
• Collects and analyzes performance metric data to eliminate special cause variation and identify continuous improvement opportunities.
• Provide support to process owners and team members through training and mentoring. Share ideas and improvements across all locations.
• May need to assume additional duties and responsibilities as directed and required.

Qualifications

As the qualified & successful candidate, you will have a BS in Engineering or related field and 2+ years in driving process improvement efforts & process control.

• Excellent verbal and written skills.
• Excellent project management.
• Ability to work with a variety of individuals at all levels.
• Self starter.
• Change Agent.
• Systematic and analytical approach to problem solving.
• Strong leadership skills.
• Reacts appropriately to data not opinion.
•  Aptitude for facilitating teams and/or activities.
• Must be Black Belt certified, or willingness to be Black Belt certified within 12 months of starting the position.
• Occasional Travel required.
