The Director of Parking, reporting directly to the Executive Director of General Services, serves as the system-wide parking strategist and internal consultant, independently prioritizing responsibilities, and projects in alignment with departmental, campus, and organizational goals. Utilizing sound judgment and problem-solving skills, this role oversees all aspects of parking operations and planning, including budget management, staffing models, and operational strategies for both existing and new facilities. The Director of Parking will oversee all of the valet staff, administrative staff, and vehicle support staff at all locations throughout UCLA Health. The position leads the development and implementation of initiatives to optimize system-wide parking performance, collaborates with Planning, Design & Construction (PDC) to integrate parking needs into early project phases, and works to standardize procedures that enhance consistency, efficiency, and scalability across the organization.


Salary Range: $105,700 - $234,500 / annually

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in operations or related field and/or equivalent experience/training.
  • 5 years’ experience working in project management & consultation.
  • 3 years’ experience leading teams or leadership role
  • Prior experience in a health care system with matrix reporting structures.
  • Working knowledge of university parking and commute programs, including permit and citation management systems, space allocation, and relational databases; ability to train staff on operational tools and systems.
  • Experienced in budget development, financial analysis, and tracking, with a solid understanding of management principles applicable in large, complex institutional environments, including those with both represented and non-represented staff.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment, political acumen, and composure when addressing sensitive, high-profile, or complex issues; able to handle confidential mat
