Aperio Global is seeking a Sr. Linux Administrator to join our Intel programs in Mclean, VA. As a Senior Linux Administrator, the selected candidate will be responsible for managing, configuring, and maintaining our Linux-based servers and systems. They will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure optimal performance, security, and reliability of our IT infrastructure. The Senior Linux Administrator will be involved in troubleshooting and resolving complex issues, implementing best practices, and driving automation initiatives to streamline processes.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain our Linux servers and associated applications.
- Oversee the deployment, configuration, and monitoring of Linux systems.
- Implement security measures to safeguard against potential threats and vulnerabilities.
- Work with the IT team to plan and execute system upgrades and patches.
- Develop and maintain documentation related to system configurations, processes, and procedures.
- Collaborate with other teams to identify and resolve infrastructure-related issues.
- Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimizations.
- Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing exercises.
- Conduct regular system backups and ensure data integrity.
- Research and recommend new technologies to improve system performance and efficiency.
- Assist in training and mentoring junior team members.
Requirements
- Active TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience as a Linux Administrator or in a similar role, with at least 8+ years of experience.
- Proficiency in Linux server administration and command-line interface.
- Strong knowledge of system security principles and best practices.
- Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, KVM) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).
- Scripting skills (e.g., Bash, Python) for task automation.
- Solid understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.).
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications (Optional):
- Industry certifications such as RHCE, LPIC, or similar.
- Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
- Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Nagios, ELK stack).
- Understanding of web servers (e.g., Apache, Nginx) and databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL).
