What is the job about?
Peerless Pump Company, a Grundfos subsidiary, is seeking an experienced District Sales Manager to join its Fire Sales team. The District Sales Manager will be responsible for a defined Area of Primary Responsibility in the Mountain/Southwest region. The District Sales Manager’s (DSM) role is to grow the Peerless Fire business by defining, measuring, analyzing, improving, and controlling the activities within their area of primary responsibility. The DSM reports to Global Sales Director-Fire and participates as an active member of Fire Team. This position will operate remotely preferably out of Las Vegas, Salt Lake City, or Phoenix.
Relocation for this position cannot be supported and qualified candidates must have authorization to work in the USA without support. One must reside in the territory.
Your main responsibilities:
- Providing Sales Excellence to existing and potential direct accounts (OEM, Wholesalers, National Accounts, Etc.) and distribution partners to participate in closing an order or to facilitate and add value to the selling process. Additionally they will oversee the efforts to implement Grundfos defined programs.
- Be the brand, live the brand and present the brand, by building relationships throughout the entire sales channel
- Develop knowledge of the Geography, Markets, Applications and Accounts including market specific drivers, Key Decision Makers (KDM), competitors, and economic conditions; The DSM will develop, maintain and implement a territory growth plans
- Assess current distribution channels, develop and evaluate their performance and manage conflict ensuring alignment with business plans
- Provide training on Peerless products, applications, and sales processes ensuring that partners become self-supportive and that they effectively represent the Peerless brand to customers; The DSM will provide / facilitate training and education to all levels of the sales channel
- Participate in SIOP/SIOE related activities to assist in sales operations planning.
- Maintain data in the Salesforce Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system relative to partners, accounts, and activities (e.g. calls, visits, etc.).
Your background
We imagine that you have:
Qualified candidates will possess a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, business or technical curriculum preferred. Additionally, have a minimum of 5+ years’ experience in the field.
- 5+ years of Fire, Industrial, Commercial, and OEM sales or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of pumps, pumping systems, and fire systems / ecosystem.
- Professional sales skills to the “trainer” or “mentor” level with knowledge and ability to apply instructed principles and concepts. Proven negotiation skills a must.
- Ability to develop and deliver effective product presentations at all levels of management and for all sizes of audiences for both internal and external customers.
- Comprehensive PC skills with above average knowledge and use of Microsoft Office application programs (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) as well as high aptitude for learning and applying new systems and programs.
- Ability to manage individual expense budget and work with regional team to plan and stay within the regional expense budget.
- Practical and systematic approach to business processes with certification in Six Sigma to the Green Belt level advantageous
- Must possess a valid U.S. passport.
- Will be required to travel up to 65% if necessary. Thus, candidates should be able to maintain valid identification.
