Position Overview
The Manager, Quality Operations reports to the Director, of Kiewit Nuclear Services (KNS) Quality (DQ). This position is responsible for the management of the Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) activities on KNS projects. The ideal candidate will have QA management experience in both DOE 10 CFR 830 (subpart A) / DOE O 414.1D and NRC 10 CFR 50, Appendix B regulated environments. Successful candidate should be an NQA-1 Certified Lead Auditor and have extensive experience with the evaluation and qualification of NQA-1 Suppliers and Management of the commercial supply chain experience. Experience with industry codes, standards and guides such as ASME, AWS, AISC, ASTM, EPRI, NEI, ISO, NEC and IEEE are strongly desired.

Location
This position is home-based in Lenexa, KS or Oak Ridge, TN with moving services and TDY to project locations.
Responsibilities
• Manage QA/QC project personnel, providing direction, mentoring, and guidance to the team.
• Interface regularly with project management, clients, customers and stakeholders to ensure project success.
• Work with District / Project Management to understand project staffing needs.
• Work with HR to get project’s staffed appropriately.
• Review of customer and regulatory contracts and specifications to develop baseline proposal and project requirements matrix/documents.
• Responsible for the review of internal and external project documents, specifications, test plans/procedures, and other technical documents for quality assurance requirements using a graded approach to quality when applicable.
• Plan, develop and maintain project-specific Project Quality Plan (PQP) and Quality Execution Plan (QEP) as applicable.
• Evaluate and qualify suppliers and partners as needed.
• Plan and perform internal and external audits and surveillances (suppliers and project) as needed.
• Support commercial grade item (CGD) surveys of commercial suppliers as needed.
• Coordinate and host Customer and Regulator audits, surveillances and visits.
• Review and revise district and project-specific quality processes and procedures.
• Keep Senior Management regularly informed of the status of the Quality System.
• Manage Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA), Continuous Improvement and Risk Management processes on projects.
• Mentor and train prospective Lead Auditors and Quality Engineers.
